Kenneth J Archer

Kenneth J. Archer is Associate Professor at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (formally Church of God Theological Seminary), Cleveland TN where he has served as a full-time faculty member since 2001. He teaches in the area of theological studies and specializes in constructive Pentecostal theology and hermeneutics. Ken received his MDiv from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland Ohio (1994) and Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001. A slightly revised version of his PhD thesis was published as A Pentecostal Hermeneutic for the Twenty-First Century: Spirit, Scripture and Community (London and New York: T&T Clark International, 2004) and is currently available in paperback titled A Pentecostal Hermeneutic: Spirit, Scripture and Community (Cleveland, TN: CPT Press, 2009). Ken has published essays on Pentecostal theology, theology and hermeneutics. His latest book is titled The Gospel Revisited: Towards a Pentecostal Theology of Worship and Witness 9Eugene, Oregon: Pickwick publishers, 2011).

Ken is married to Melissa and both are credential holders in the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. Prior to joining the faculty at Pentecostal Theological Seminary they served 3 different churches as Senior Pastors over a 12 year period—two Assembly of God and one independent community church. Currently, they are College and Career pastors of Woodward Avenue Church of God in Athens. Ken and Melissa have two sons, Trent and Tyler. They reside in Athens, Tennessee. Ken is an enthusiastic birder.
